Stet Schanze elected as Chairman; Jerome Lentz honored for years of service.
Las Vegas (Nov. 3, 2015) – Members of the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) elected their 2016 board of directors at the organization’s annual meeting Nov. 2 in Las Vegas. Stet Schanze of Gray Manufacturing Company (St. Joseph, Missouri), was elected chairman. He will take over the position from Jerome Lentz of Challenger Lifts (Louisville, Kentucky), who served three terms as chairman and has been a board member for more than 10 years. ALI President R.W. “Bob” O’Gorman presented Lentz with a plaque honoring his longtime service at the membership meeting.
“Jerome Lentz’s leadership has helped advance ALI in many directions,” said O’Gorman. “Under his watch, we launched the online version of the Lifting It Right training program, grew the ALI Lift Inspector Certification Program, and developed successful partnerships with many other safety and training organizations. I look forward to continuing to work on these initiatives with new chairman Stet Schanze, who has provided the lift industry with tremendous value since joining the ALI Board three years ago.”
Lentz will continue to serve on the board as past chairman. The 2016 ALI board also includes Jeff Kritzer of BendPak (Santa Paula, California), Stan Poweska of PKS Lifts (Ancaster, Ontario), Matt Webster of Vehicle Service Group (Madison, Indiana), Harold Yeo of TLS Lifts (Oakville, Ontario), Associate Class representative Gary Wainwright of Weco Automotive Lifts & Equipment (Bradford, Arkansas) and O’Gorman.
The ALI Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from the North American-based vehicle lift manufacturers that are members of ALI, plus one elected Associate Class representative. ALI Associate Class membership is available to any North American service organization with at least one ALI Certified Lift Inspector on staff.
