Statement from ALI on Complete Hydraulic Service

Statement from the Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) on Complete Hydraulic Service

Cortland, NY (June 23, 2014) – The Automotive Lift Institute (ALI) is aware of news reports that Complete Hydraulic Service & Equipment Sales, Inc. of Franklin, Ind., is under investigation by the FBI. Complete Hydraulic Service & Equipment Sales, Inc. is not an ALI member and does not offer products that have been tested or evaluated for electrical and mechanical safety by ALI or any of the OSHA Accredited Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories authorized by ALI. ALI is not involved in the investigation and therefore cannot comment on it.

ALI encourages anyone with concerns about the capacity rating, labeling or safety of his or her Complete Hydraulic vehicle lift to contact a local ALI Certified Lift Inspector to conduct a thorough safety and performance inspection. ALI Certified Lift Inspectors have been proven qualified to thoroughly inspect any vehicle lift, regardless of manufacturer, in accordance with ANSI/ALI ALOIM:2008, the national standard covering vehicle lift operation, inspection and maintenance. To find a local ALI Certified Lift Inspector to determine if your lifts are safe, visit www.autolift.org/inspectors.php.

Remember: Your safety is riding on it!

ALI is a trade association of responsible North American lift manufacturers. Our mission is to promote the safe design, construction, installation, service, inspection and use of vehicle lifts. We sponsor several nationally recognized lift safety standards and offer third-party certification programs for vehicle lifts and lift inspectors. We encourage lift users to buy only lifts that bear the gold ALI/ETL Certified Label proving that those lifts have been third-party tested and certified to meet the ANSI/ALI ALCTV-2011 Standard for Automotive Lifts – Safety Requirements for Construction, Testing and Validation. The ALI gold label is a lift users’ only proof that the lifts they are working under have been tested and proven to meet this industry safety and performance standard. For more information about the ALI/ETL Lift Certification Program, including a directory of certified lifts, visit www.autolift.org/safety.php.
